Business Coaching

business consultantWe at Accounting Alliance for Small Business, P.A. subscribe to the mantra, “What you can measure, you can manage. What you can manage, you can improve.” In order for us to assist you, the business owner, proactively, we first have to have a solid foundation in which to work from. This foundation begins with your accounting system and financial statements. Without a solid accounting system, which results in reliable financial information/statements, no one will have an ability to assist you in your growth and prosperity. Therefore, our ability to answer your business questions and assist you in growing your business all starts with our Accountant’s Special Business Package (ASBP).

Informal Business Coaching:

One of the primary benefits of our ASBP is that it includes an informal business coaching component. With our ASBP program, we provide you with unlimited short duration coaching by telephone or meetings in our office to answer any of your accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, tax, or business related questions at no additional charge. This provides you with someone to discuss your ideas, thoughts, or concerns with prior to your implementation.

“Business Owners do not know, that which they do not know.” Profound isn’t it? We do not know, what you do not know, so if you do not ask, we won’t know how to help. For us, the only dump question, is the question not asked!

If you were to call your attorney and ask him or her a question, we are pretty confident that your attorney will bill you for their time to answer a simple question. As an example, let’s say that your attorney charges you $350.00 an hour for their services. You call and ask them a question that takes 15 minutes. You would then be billed $87.50 ($350.00 per hour X ¼ hour, 15 minutes). With us, there is no additional cost or billings to answer your short questions. This alone could save you hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars a year on our ASBP program!

Remember, the above is just an example. We are not attorneys and therefore cannot provide you with legal advice. But, you get the idea! Maybe your current accountant operates in this fashion? If so, we can help you reduce this cost!

Now you might be thinking what kinds of questions would this apply to?

  • Is my salary reasonable?
  • What is the best way to deduct the cost of my car?
  • Should I purchase or lease a car?
  • Should the purchase be in my name or the business name?
  • Should I incorporate my business?
  • What is involved with hiring employees?
  • How do I handle independent contractors?
  • Is this expense tax deductible?

We do this because we are not mind-readers and would rather have you ask us questions before you do something, especially something that might have an adverse tax effect on you or your business. If your question requires us to pick up a pencil or do some research, then we will let you know you are on the clock before we begin doing this work. Fair enough?

Formal Business Coaching:

On the other hand, if you have a need for more complicated or formal inquiries, we would be happy to provide you formal business coaching services. You might ask what types of situations this would be applicable. Here is a short list, which is not all inclusive, but will give you an idea:

  • Selling Your Business
  • Valuing Your Business
  • Business Purchase Due Diligence
  • IRS or FDOR Representation Issues
  • Financing Package Assistance
  • QuickBooks Installation or Support
  • Tax Research
  • Special Projects
  • Business Plans

Here’s how we can help:

Start with where you are – It’s simple, but true. We’ll take into account your business (or multiple businesses), life, family, health, financial situation, and dreams. That’s the best starting place. It all comes down to understanding where you are standing right now. If we don’t “get” you, we won’t be able to help you make changes. And that’s what we both want.

Bring together all of your great ideas – Once you have a clear sense of the full situation and you see it all laid out, it’s so much easier to identify which items to tackle first. We’ve seen it time and again – the relief, the deep breaths, the smiles – and it brings about big results.

Clarify them in a simple project plan – Whether online or offline, you’ll develop (with our help) a clear plan with action items, projects, agreed-on dates, and responsibilities. Don’t worry – we won’t push you to take on more than you can handle. You decide the boundaries, and then we simply help direct you along the way.

Meet regularly – We can meet with you monthly, quarterly, annually – or more often, if you like. It’s really up to you. The more we meet, the faster your great ideas get implemented, but everybody does things differently. You’ll design a schedule that fits your life.

Help you with implementation – If you’re still a bit swamped, we can either help you complete some of the project items you’ve identified, or (if it’s not our area of expertise) direct you to someone else we know and trust.

Whether it’s marketing, sales, new product development, changing your business structure, or even selling the business – having a business coach gives you an impetus to actually check off those to-do items. Our clients tell us that if no one was keeping them on track, they’d just let things slide.

Getting accountability is probably the single best thing you can do if you’re going to implement those great ideas.

Using our “Accountant’s Special Business Package” is a great way to start! We look forward to servicing all your accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, tax compliance, and business coaching needs. Contact us for a no cost, no obligation consultation to see if we are a good fit for one another.
